Term 4 in Room 17!
Welcome back to Term 4 in Room 17. It is the final term at Te Rapa Primary for our year 8's, lets see you make the most of it. I hope you all had a good break and are ready for whats coming up this term. We have an action packed term of learning and fun with our main focus early on being CAMP RAGLAN!. We will also be getting into our athletics in preparation for our senior athletics day here at school.
Please remind your child that we will be outdoors for Physical Education this term and the need to have a spare change of clothes will be important incase they end up wet and/or dirty.
Tech Arts - Thursday
Year 8’s continue to attend Tech this term at 8.30am on a Thursday morning. Our year 7's will start classes at school at the normal time of 9am with their tech group and go off to tech at around 12pm. Classes change to new rotations over the course of the year. While back at school, children participate in a variety of subjects such as Dance, Music, Science, Spanish, Speechcraft and Digital Technology.
Key Dates for Term 4
Oral Language: Continue to learn how to communicate their own ideas and information.
Reading: Increase reading stamina and monitor their understanding as they read. Critical thinking will be integrated accordingly.
Writing: Writing to Entertain - poetry, narratives and continue to increase their writing stamina.
Mathematics: Rational Numbers - decimals, fractions and percentages; Measurement - length, perimeter, area and Geometry.
Physical Education: The priority will be training for our school athletics then we will swim if the weather allows.
Digital Technology: Using Google as a tool for learning will continue. Typing skills will be practised.
Inquiry: Our topic is about ‘Being a Responsible Citizen’.
