Welcome to Room 17

Welcome back to a busy and eventful Term 4!

Firstly, I hope you all had a good break and have rested up after an amazing School Camp to Motutapu Island. Our camp was a great success with many of our students pushing themselves in all the fantastic activities we had. It was great to see plenty of smiles and students supporting one another throughout the week.

This term will be shifting our Inquiry focus to the Social Sciences, where we will be using the upcoming elections to look at how democracy gives people the power to shape the society they live in.

Other opportunities for our students this term include our tech rotations here and at Te Au O Tamatea, also we have athletics and swimming when it gets warm enough. Also we can look forward to our 'Big Day In' at the end of the term and and also our leavers dinner for our Year 8's which will include social dancing as a lead up. 

We will shift our Physical Education focus to athletics where from day 1 we will be preparing ourselves for athleitcs day at Porritt Stadium. We will be practicing Highjump, Longjump, Shotput, Discuss and 100m/200m Sprints. Please make sure to be wearing appropriate gear for this.
