Netball

At Te Rapa Primary School, netball is offered to all students although some levels are modified versions of the 7 a side game. At Te Rapa we are lucky enough to have the astro-turf to train on rather than on concrete. The competition is run during Terms 2 and 3 of each year.

Year 7/8 Netball

The Year 7 and 8 teams play on a Saturday morning.

There are opportunities for skilled Year 7 and 8 players to be part of a High Performance Programme with Hamilton City Netball. We at Te Rapa are proud of the many children who we have had involved with representative teams and these programmes in the past. 

Year 5/6 Netball

Year 5 and 6's play a modified version of netball, having 6 players on the court, two defence, two attacks and two mid court players. Most of the rules stay the same, although there are some slight modification to allow the game to run smoothly.

This year they will play on a Wednesday night, at either 4pm, 5pm or 6pm.

Junior Netball: Year 1-4

Hamilton City Netball also runs a Future Ferns Programme for Year 1 to 4 children.

The Year 1-2 programme is skills based with a short game at the end of the session. These skills based sessions and games are played on one third of the court. During these games they play with 4 people on the court in each team.

The Year 1-2 teams play on Thursday night.

The Year 3-4 programme is skills based with a short game at the end of each session. These sessions are played on two thirds of the court. During these games, they play with 5 players on the court. 

The Year 3-4 teams play on Tuesday night.
