P.T.A. - PARENTS AND TEACHERS ASSOCIATION

Welcome to the Te Rapa School PTA page!

Firstly – what is the PTA (Parent Teacher Association)?  We are a group of Mums and Dads who volunteer our time to meet once a month to share ideas and to hold or run fun, new and effective ways of fundraising for our school.

We have several repeat fundraising events such as the Yummy Fruit Sticker Collection, the Entertainment Book, Mad Hair Day (for Charity), Domino’s dough raiser, Mamas Donuts and Kids Art Calendars. Each year we alternate holding a Quiz night or a Spelling Bee/Mathathon.

The money we raise throughout the year is gifted back to the school to help out with funding for things like class trips / sports equipment / play equipment / shade sails / technology / rainy day resources / school magazine / end of year activities…

We meet on the first Wednesday of each month (of the school term) in the school staffroom at 7.30pm. We are always ready to welcome new parents wanting to contribute to the PTA; whether it be a very small role or more hands on.

For those who are unable to commit to coming to the monthly meetings, you can become a ‘Friend of the PTA’ instead. We simply send out an email requesting your help and you can reply with a yes or no. It might be counting points, or cooking a few sausages, setting up tables or helping serve a morning tea. The more hands make light work!
