INSPIRE – CREATE – EXPLORE
Te Rapa HEART
The Positive Behaviour for Learning School-Wide
framework, otherwise known as PB4L, is
helping Room 9 build a culture where positive behaviour and
learning is a way of life. The framework has been tailored
to our school’s own environment and cultural needs.
By strengthening relationships and creating more positive
home and school environments, we remove barriers to
engagement and improve students' chances to achieve at
school and beyond.
We will be using the “Learning Assets” to guide our
experiences and discoveries.
Term 2 Inquiry Focus
INDEPENDENCE
Please support your child by encouraging them to be responsible for their belongings, bringing book bags to school every day, completion of homework, delivering notices, and attending meetings.
HOMEWORK
Homework will go home on a Monday and is due back every Friday. The homework book is required to come to school daily so children can write their reading in and for teachers to monitor progress.
Reading
Children reading up to Level 21 are to choose a home reader from their book box daily. All readers MUST go home in a book bag to ensure books are not damaged. Capable readers are to choose reading material from home and/or the library.
Maths
Mathletics: The focus this year is on Mathletics. Children are expected to get 1000 points minimum per week. This is an excellent online programme. In week 3 your child will come home with their login details.
P.E - Winter Sports/Jump Jam
Our library day is: Tuesday - book bags are required to take care of
and protect the library books. Room 9 are able to take home two library each
week.
If you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact me via email. I am looking forward to working with the students in Room 9 this year, watching them grow, discover and experience the love of learning.
