Welcome to the new children joining us in Term 4.
What’s Happening in Term 4?
Our Inquiry focus for this term is The Arts - Cultures of People in New Zealand.
We will extend our thinking of the Learning Assets - Self Manager, Communicator, Thinker, Collaborator and Researcher.
We will tie in our School HEART values - Honesty, Excellence, Aroha, Respect, Teamwork with our Inquiry. We also include our Wonderings – I See, I Think, I Wonder
Literacy – will include:
Number – will include:
Geometry – shape, size and colour attributes
Measurement – comparisons of length, weight, time & temperature
Health & PE – for the first 5 weeks we will be building our skills with Athletics in preparation for the Syndicate Athletics Day.
We will have a daily fitness activity, building basic ball, skipping and movement skills.
Swimming, when weather permits.
Te Reo Maori – will include:
DMC / Digital Fluency
We have a DMC time on Thursday afternoons and will use our buddy class for support.
We will explore Unplugged activities using the Beebots and Colby the Mouse.
Museum Trip – 26th October
Hamilton Gardens Trip - 14th December
Library day is Friday

I have been teaching at Te Rapa Primary, in various roles and at all levels for over 30 years. Over 20 of these years as a fulltime teacher.
I especially enjoy teaching the younger children and helping them settle into school.
Mrs Fiona Greaves
I come from an early Childhood background and have spent over 20 years in this sector. I am passionate about supporting children’s transition to school through positive, nurturing relationships. I love using music and movement to consolidate lessons.
