Welcome to Term 3. I hope you had a great holiday. 

Our Topic for Term 3 is ‘Fairy tales, Folk tales and Legends’. We will be reading lots of these throughout the term!

For writing we will be using our imaginations and the ideas we get from fairy tales, folk tales and legends to help us write some exciting narrative stories. Later on in the term will use some of the things we’ve learnt when writing narratives to help us to make our recount writing more interesting.

In mathematics will are focusing on multiplication and division. We are all continuing to work on recalling basic facts accurately and quickly.

We will be revising numbers, colours, body parts, days of the week, months of the year and greetings in Maori Language.  We will also start to learn some actions and instructions.

For ICT for are going to keep practising emailing our pen pals in Room 10. We will also continue to use Word to publish our narrative stories and will start to learn to use Kidspriation.

This term we will continue with Jump Jam and be starting cross country training. It is important that we remember to bring suitable clothing and footwear for running in everyday.

We will still be taking home reporter cards this term. We will be looking for interesting articles in the newspaper and thinking about the 5 W’s and H before coming to school and presenting our article in front of the class.

It is always nice to catch up with parents and was great to see lots of you in Term 2. Once again feel free to pop in and see what we have been doing or me anytime before or afterschool!
