Room 8 - Mr Josh Louden

Welcome to Term 4. I hope you had a lovely holiday. 

Our Topic for Term 4 is ‘Kites’. We will be learning and thinking about how Technology involves us making useful and fun things that others need and want. We will also be learning about the process of technological practice and will be thinking, planning, making, testing and evaluating our ideas in relation to kites.

For writing we will be writing instructions on how to make and do things. Also we will be learning how to write formal and informal letters. We will continue to work on making our recount writing interesting for others to read.

In mathematics some of us will be going to different classes this term to learn all about Fractions. Throughout the term we will continue to practice our addition, subtraction, multiplication and division basic facts.

This term we will be practising long jump, high jump, ball throw and sprints for athletics day. Later on in the term when the weather is warmer we will start swimming. We need to make sure that we remember to bring our swimming togs, towel and goggles in a named bag.

At the start of the term we will be reading lots of non fiction articles.  Then later on we will be reading and practising some fun plays. 

Even though the year is almost over we still need to remember to bring our book bags every day and to make sure we read every night.  It is really important that we still complete all of our reading, spelling and maths homework and remember to bring our homework books every Friday.

Once again it is great to see parents and other visitors in our classroom! So feel free to pop in and see our exciting work or me any time before or afterschool!
