Room 18 - Mr Hamish Marsh

Welcome back to school after what I hope has been a relaxing and enjoyable break. This term promises to be another very busy and exciting one. We start with a packaging unit. The students will need to design and construct a popcorn boxes that will be enjoyed at the end of the unit while watching a movie. We will then explore the importance of water as part of a Sustainability Unit followed by a Unit on Antarctica. Speech finals are in week three. In Mathematics we will be studying Geometry and Measurement looking at 2D and 3D shapes. Symmetry and transformation will also be included. We will also cover sequential patterns and graph relationships during an Algebra Unit. Probability and chance will be covered at the end of the term. Reading will be focussing on comprehension strategies with visualising and making connections to text being the first strategies covered.
