Room 10 Term 3 2010

Another busy term for Room 10 is all lined up and rolling on.

Our topic / writing / reading    

We have a fun Topic called ‘Fairy Tales, Myths and Legends’’. We are going to be doing fun activities around fairy tales like looking and acting out different characters and writing new and exciting endings to some of our favourite fairy tales. We will be studying the elements of fairy tales like they start with ‘ Once upon a time ‘ and end with ‘Happily ever after’.  We will be studying the characters, identifying good and bad characters.  The themes and morals of the stories will be discussed and related to our own school virtues.                                                                   

PE and Fitness

With the winter chill we will be outdoors and active training for our cross country and doing fun big ball activities.  Jump jam will continue with our funky tunes and moves.

To make sure we are staying fit and active at home we are going to monitor and track what physical activity we are doing at home.  We are going to keep a log book and record all the fun things we do at home to get our heart beat up.

Maths

This term the focus is on multiplication and division. We will be learning our two, three, five and ten times tables and some students in room 10 are going to learn the rest of their  times tables to twelve.

Art

Our art will be related and integrated with our topic. We will be making masks of our favourite characters, and creating a story quilt as well as some fun displays with string.

One thing we are looking forward to is our disco and dressing up in our favourite fairy tale character costume.
